situation would arise if the Supreme Court for China were to make a winding up order against a company on the Hongkong regis- ter for non-compliance with the 1919 Order in Council, and if it were necessary to enforce within the Colony any order made by the Supreme Court for China in the course of the proceedings, because it would appear that the Companies Ordinance, 1915, and the 1915 Order in Council, which were expressly made to come intc force on the same day, contemplated that the law in the two jurisdictions on the subject should be identical.

5. When the law in this Colony has been altered so as to make it agree with the 1919 Order in Council, I would suggest that before taking any action under the 1919 Order in Council against any company on the Hongkong register steps should be taken under Section 4(4) of the Companies Ordinance, 1915, to transfer the company to the Shanghai register, and I shall of course be prepared to send out a notice to any company at your

request.

6. The Attorney General asks me to say that he takes exception to the action of the solicitors of the Wing On Company (Shanghai) Limited in quoting him as having given an opinion on

an Order in Council which he had not seen.
